Inside the silhouetted darkness Swims a mind in repose Lost in a microcosm of frustration Thoughts and dreams are juxtaposed Madness is always reaching As feral rage grows and swells Exposed wounds gush life From wrist phlebotomized in Hell Inside the abyss of a breaking mind Dreams implode and passions die Nightmares propagate and foster Listening to hope's whimpering cries Cloaked in a endless darkness People struggle and beg for peace Slashing, drinking, and doping Fantasizing that death will give release Within the silhouetted mind Lives nightmares and anguished fears Hopes are dashed upon desperation Because people feel no love is near © 2013 Eddie Phillips
