Eddie Kendrick Phillips has been writing semi-professionally since he was 15 years old. He teamed up with a childhood friend to complete and submit his first screenplay to New Line Cinema at 16 years old.  Despite great interest New Line Cinema ultimately passed on his screenplay but their development head suggested that Mr. Phillips attend film school to refine his already impressive skills.  Taking this advice to heart Eddie attended Columbia College Chicago and worked on becoming an industry screenwriter and filmmaker.    Thing soon changed in his life.  Due to the costs of school he decided to join the United States Navy.  After a three year tour in Maryland stationed at NSA he got married and decided to put his writing career aspirations aside to start a family.   He continued to write but his focus was on his family.

Over the last three years Eddie has returned to writing and his filmmaking past.  The website SOULFUL ELOQUENCE is a place to share a small section of his talent through his poems, stories, and reflections about the world.  Please enjoy the work of this unique writer who still has a lot to say about the world in his own unique way!
